About

Making healthy easy sounds simple...instead of soda and chips for snack, a community rec center serves apple slices and no or low-fat milk, or instead of driving to school, students are encouraged to walk. Easy, right? Not necessarily.

Changing a school or community environment to make healthier choices available can be a big task. So, why not enlist the help of teens to make healthier options a reality.

nrg Powered by Choice provides not only the framework for engaging teens in creating healthy changes, it also provides the materials and resources necessary to make healthy changes happen.

Throughout the school year educational and promotional materials are released. nrg Kit Timeline Through the Own it. and Share it. levels of engagement nrg Back to School Packs are available for schools and community groups to create buzz and excitement among teen leaders. The Back to School Packs include health education materials, posters, magnets and the campaign DVD to share with students.

Once teens commit to making healthy easy for themselves - they can decide to make healthy easy for their friends and peers through the Change it. level. There are three options to assist schools and community groups to fundraise and purchase a "healthy change". These options include an nrg Ultimate Frisbee® Fundraiser, nrg Health Vending Fundraiser or a nrg Healthy Vending Machine to raise money to support wellness initiatives or to raise money to implement a healthy change.

Sharing the nrg message with younger kids is another great way teens can further their involvement with the nrg Powered by Choice campaign. By hosting a Move it Outside™ activity for early middle or elementary school-age children, teens can show youth the importance of outdoor play. nrg Move it Outside Kits provide the materials to host mentoring activity to role model outdoor play and activity for younger children.
