What is nrg Powered by Choice?
The Center for Nutrition and Activity Promotion at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital advances knowledge and strategies for achieving energy balance. The Center advances lifestyle choices for a balance of healthy eating and active living under a unified brand called nrgBalance make healthy easy.
Energy balance, a universal measure of healthy eating and active living, simply means energy in = energy out. Much of your time is spent in facilities like school and community centers where you often do not have access to options for making healthy eating and active living choices.
Do you want to be part of making it easy for yourself and your friends to find energy balance? What if you were empowered to create those options yourselfwith help from an adult advisor? What if student council rallied the student body to raise funds for a climbing wall for the school’s physical education classes? What if a community youth group held an event to raise money for a healthy vending machine?
nrg Powered by Choice gives you that power.
nrg Powered by Choice is a grassroots campaign to make healthy easy. Developed by teens, for teens it gives you a voice and a choice about what it means to eat healthy and be active.
- Own it by signing the nrg declaration and showing your support for the cause.
- Share it with your friends, helping them discover the power of energy balance.
- Change it by working with your friends and an adult advisor to create healthy eating and fun active living options in your school or community.
And there are cool e-features like web banners, e-card, pics & clips, contests, fundraiser event guide and success stories to help you on your way.
Get started today with Own it. and help make healthy easy in your school or community.
